We had a good run, Alberto Gonzalez.
Some new faces in lineup for Gm1: Gardner 8, Suzuki 7, Cano 4, Hafner DH, Boesch 9, Nelson 5, Joseph 3, Stewart 2, Gonzalez 6, Phelps P— Yankees PR Dept. (@YankeesPR) May 13, 2013
Corban Joseph, the 26th man for the doubleheader to be sent back down tomorrow, has played three games at first base for Triple-A Scranton this year, but has never played there at all before this year. This should be interesting.
Game 2 is not posted yet, but Cano will be DHing and CoJo will be at second base, his normal position. Jack Curry sent that tweet, but Mark Feinsand is saying that only Cano, Gardner, and maybe Alberto Gonzalez will start both games. So CoJo might not be playing Game 2? Guess we'll figure it out soon. Feinsand responded to my tweet asking about it and said Girardi might have just been referring to his regulars, so CoJo could be playing Game 2 after all.
Stop me if you've heard this before: Joba Chamberlain is causing a scene. This time, he decided to snip at Mariano Rivera in full view of the media.
Arrest report says Yankees prospect Mason Williams was weaving and speeding at 2:45 a.m., then failed field sobriety tests w/ Tampa police.— Greg Auman (@gregauman) April 25, 2013
His BAC was below the Florida threshold of .08 at .067/.062, but he failed field sobriety tests after weaving and speeding at 2:45 am. Super. Even if his BAC wasn't that high, he still obviously should not have been driving if the booze affected his driving that much. Not worth risking his reputation, his life, and most importantly, sober drivers' lives. Sigh.
Phil Hughes' rehab start for the RailRiders was cancelled tomorrow. Instead, he'll be facing the Detroit Tigers tomorrow at 4PM.
