Girardi says no decision yet on Pettitte's next start. If not able to, Girardi says he will go on DL #Yankees

It looks as though the Yankees will not have to rely on Bobby Wilson for catching duty, as Chris Stewart is likely to only need a few days after tweaking his groin running the bases last night. Granted, we have seen this before - an injury that should only take a few days ends up forcing the team to play a man down for a week and a half before the player ultimately goes on the disabled list anyway. Stay tuned to see if this ends up the same way. Groin injuries seem to be finicky.
Andy Pettitte was pulled from last night's game with a strain in his trapezius muscle and it is unclear whether or not he will require a trip to the disabled list or not. Joe Girardi told beat writers that Andy would either pitch his next time out, or be put on the DL, meaning that just skipping over his spot in the rotation doesn't appear to be an option. Losing Andy for 15 days would be unfortunate for a team that seems to send someone new to the MRI tube every other day, but all of their young fill-in pitchers have performed well to this point. It might not be as disastrous as putting another position player on the DL might be.
Update: Andy is going to the DL after all.
Pettitte is going to the DL. Nuno coming back.

The good news is that Travis Hafner appears to be healthy once more. He needed a few days rest, but will be available for pinch hitting duty tonight if called upon. He is sitting in favor of Ben Francisco because he happens to bat left-handed. Curtis Granderson is also sitting tonight after picking up three hits last night for some reason that cannot really be explained. Does he really need to DH and have a day off already? This probably has something to do with which hand Mark Buehrle pitches with. Sigh.
Tonights lineup: Gardner 8 nix 6 Cano 4 wells 7 Francisco dh Overbay 3 Adams 5 ichiro 9 Romine 2 Kuroda 1.
