US PRESSWIRE

Jeter Returns: Derek Jeter will start DHing by March 10th as part of the plan to ease him back into playing. He won't play defense until he proves to be healthy while hitting.

Betances in 2013: It has been announced that Dellin Betances will start the season in Triple-A Scranton, after being demoted to Double-A Trenton in 2012. He will also continue to pitch as a starter, even though he's seen so much of his prospect stock fall in recent years due to inconsistency. Many people believe it's time to try him as a reliever before the Yankees lose him to free agency.

Voices of the Yankees: NoMaas makes fun of John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman for being in midseason form as they continue to make mistakes and speak nonsense. Sterling is already providing false information and both are unable to give actual statistical insight, even when the statistics are fairly simple to look up.

Who Can the Yankees Count on: The RailRiders' blog believes that the Yankees can replace Granderson with Zoilo Almonte, Melky Mesa, or Ronnier Mustelier. Alternative plans include looking to the veterans, namely Matt Diaz and Juan Rivera for help, making a trade, and moving Eduardo Nunez to the outfield.

Mascots in Scranton: Speaking of Scranton, the team is introducing two new mascots and are asking local elementary school to help name them in their Name the Mascots competition. One mascot is described as a porcupine and the other a "nine-foot tall superhero" whose silhouette looks something like a wooden soldier.

Spring Starters: Jose Ramirez will start on Tuesday, Nik Turley on Wednesday, David Phelps will pitch at home on Thursday, while Brett Marshall pitches on the road.

Someone to the Rescue: The Captan's Blog believes that Cashman can still make calls to replace Curtis Granderson with a trade or could look to the waiver wire to pick someone up. Alfonso Soriano and Vernon Wells can certainly be had, but the Yankees' best bet is to look internally for someone to take Granderson's spot for the month of April.

Two on the List: Baseball Prospectus has released their list of the Top 101 prospects in 2013 and this year two Yankees have made the cut. Gary Sanchez was ranked at #47 and Mason Williams was ranked at #51. Sanchez was booted from the #40 spot from last season, while Williams actually soared up from #99 in 2012.
