The Yankees sent a much stronger lineup to start their second game of spring training, and the results weren't great. But what happened to Curtis Granderson is the far more worrying result. Granderson was hit by a pitch, on the forearm, in the first inning. He had to be removed from the game, and was taken for X-rays, where it was revealed that he has a broken arm and will be out for ten weeks. This is not good. You can read more about that here.

Everything else that happened in the game seems a little less important after the injury, but let's touch on what happened.

• The Yankees started with a lineup that feasibly could be one that starts a regular season game. The results: 11 hits and 0 runs. As a team, the Yankees went 0-7 with runners in scoring position. That sounds painfully familiar. But it is just spring training, and the first appearance for many, which has to be remembered.
• Kevin Youkilis made his first appearance in a Yankee uniform, going 0-2 and stranding five on base. Travis Hafner made his Yankee debut as well, going 1-2.
• Two of the people in the mix for the catcher spots made appearances. Chris Stewart started the game, going 1-2. Bobby Wilson spelled him later in the game, going 0-2 at the plate, but was involved in a strike him out-throw him out double play, behind it.
• The pitching was decent, holding the Blue Jays to just two runs. Adam Warren started the game, retiring six of the seven batters he faced. Cody Eppley and Juan Cedeno were the two pitchers to allow the Blue Jay runs. Anthony Gose tripled off Eppley, and scored on Emilio Bonifacio's single. Sean Ochinko doubled off Cedeno, to score Moises Sierra, for the Blue Jays other run. Matt Daley, Francisco Rondon, Preston Claiborne, and Jim Miller were the other pitchers to make appearance for the Yankees
• Several prospects got some time for the Yankees including: Gary Sanchez, Cito Culver, Addison Maruszak, and Ronnier Mustelier, who came in for Grandson.
