Sitting here thinking, I couldn't help but wonder about the Yankees future and what the team could look like down the road. With the Red Sox restocking their farm, I can only wonder how things have changed. These aren't your Yankees of old. Let's face the facts: They aren't going to freely spend like we've known them to, and with the $189mil tax cap looming in 2014, prospects and generating talent through the farm system has become more important. So, with that said, I would like to know the community's opinion on the future of the team, and of the farm system. Who is the next big-time slugger? Which prospect turns into an ace down the road? I'd like to know who you guys have your eyes down, and predictions as to how the team could/will look, say 5 years from now. It's a reality us Yankee fans haven't had to worry about, but this a new time. With FA looming for Granderson, Cano, Swisher, etc. and other players needing pay raises, the team will not be able to resign everyone, and the team will need to look elsewhere. So feel free to leave your thoughts on this subject, and as an extra fun topic, I would like to see everyone's predictions for the 2016 New York Yankees. This is my first post on Pinstripe Alley, so I would appreciate any and all feedback you all may have. Thanks guys, have fun, and as always, GO YANKS!
This was Bleacher Report's take on this topic, but it was published before the Montero/Pineda trade, and the Kemp extension, so keep that in mind. : http://bleacherreport.com/articles/979426-new-york-yankees-projections-for-the-next-5-years
