- As Matt posted last night, the Yankees' first-round draft pick Ty Hensley signed for $1.2 million. Hensley was committed to Ole Miss but decided to take the money with the Yankees ahead of the 5 p.m. deadline this afternoon. They originally agreed upon $1.6 million before asymptomatic shoulder abnormalities were found on Hensley's MRI.
- Joba Chamberlain will pitch two innings for the Gulf Coast Yankees on Saturday. Brian Cashman thinks it will take less than 30 days for Joba to finish his rehab and be activated. After his most recent setback, Dr. Lewis Yocum and Dr. Christopher Ahmad have instructed David Aardsma to rest for two weeks before resuming throwing.
