- Mike Axisa at River Ave Blues looks at three Yankees who are Rule V eligible this year and are not protected by the 40 man roster. Axisa believes that the prospect of shopping Adam Warren, Mikey O'Brien, or Brett Marshall before the 2012 deadline could be more beneficial than losing them to the Rule V draft this off season.
- Could Andre Ethier's deal with the Dodgers spell doom for Nick Swisher's future in New York? Possibly. Ethier and Swisher have had similar numbers over the past couple of seasons, so even if Swisher's future deal doesn't match Ethier's, it probably won't be too far off. Chad Jennings at LoHud expects the Yankees and Swish to part ways at the end of the season. Knowing our lack of MLB ready outfielders in the system, are you ok with that happening?
- Each Yankee starter remains in the Top Five of All Star voting so far, with Derek Jeter and Curtis Granderson set to start the game if it were today. Rangers fans seem to be dominating the voting with five Rangers currently leading at their positions. It's unfortunate to see a lot of popularity continue to rule for a game that actually counts for something important. Thanks, Bud.
- The Yankees begin a series with the Washington Nationals today in DC and Eric Schultz at The Yankee Analysts has a scouting report of the enemy. Our starters will match up with Gio Gonzalez, Jordan Zimmermann, and Edwin Jackson over the weekend, in addition to having to contend with boy wonder Bryce Harper, their biggest offensive threat.
