Gold Glove awards were announced in an awkward presentation on ESPN2. Two Yankees were among those recognized.

Mark Teixeira took home his fifth Gold Glove, his third as a Yankee, while Robinson Cano was awarded the second Gold Glove of his career. They were the only two Yankees to win, though Russell Martin was a finalist for the award at catcher that deservedly went to Matt Wieters instead.

The full American League winners:

C: Matt Wieters

1B: Mark Teixeira

2B: Robinson Cano

3B: Adrian Beltre

SS: J.J. Hardy

OF: Alex Gordon, Adam Jones, Josh Reddick

Mike Trout not winning at centerfield will likely be a hot topic of conversation, because he was almost certainly the most deserving after becoming a human highlight reel at the position, but we all know that these awards have a tendency to go to the bigger name instead of who might be most deserving. It's a shame that his efforts won't be recognized after a tremendous rookie season, though.
