First Images of A.J. Burnett in New Uniform Released

I think he looks far better than he ever did in pinstripes:

He’s definitely dressed for success. The “34″ in the corner is the approximate amount of dollars (in millions) remaining on Burnett’s contract (and, as Cliff Corcoran points out, his uniform number).

  1. Fred Vincy says:

Are we going to see Cliff and Jay this season?

  2. In a weird sort of way, I’m going to miss AJ, the way you break up with someone you know was bad for you, who made your life hell, and you still miss them, because you see, through it all, how great that person could have been with just a little tweaking. You remember what attracted you to them to begin with, before you found out all their horrible faults that repulsed you in the end. Maybe I’m getting too deep here. Either way, despite his somewhat cold demeanor and dead delivery of words, I always thought AJ seemed like a pretty nice guy underneath it all. He seemed to genuinely love New York, the Yankee organization and his teammates. He invented the shaving cream pie, after all. I don’t hate the guy, I just wish things would have turned out better. But hey, breaking up is hard. Even if he wins the Cy Young award in Pittsburgh, it’s still a smart trade, for the simple reason that it’s the smartest decision in the moment.
