Well, that was a deflating loss. Bartolo Colon pitched his best game in weeks but the hitters forgot to show up. Baltimore prevailed 2-0 behind rookie southpaw Zach Britton.
Bart and Zach were matching each other with a shutout through six innings. But while the O's capitalized on a couple mistakes by Colon in the seventh and eighth frames, the Yankees could not on anything they saw from Britton. They had only six baserunners and two of them were erased due to GIDPs.
Game 2 will see Ivan Nova take on Brian Matusz.
