I already wrote this in a comment on the FJM post, but I was told it should have been a fan post. So to allow the masses who do not often peruse the comments sections (read: jerks) to see into my crystal ball, I reposted it here. Many people think they can do Joe Girardi's job way better than he can. They should, because he is an asshole who does not see simple solutions like this sitting right in front of him.
I think Girardi should put Nick Swisher in the 5th spot in the rotation! The guy has a 0.00 career ERA, OPEN YOUR EYES JOE.
That way, Jeter can be moved to right field so he can get re-acquainted with the place he got all of his base hits to back in the day. He must reconnect with right field in order to remove the dark chi that has been hovering over him all season. Read a science book, Girardi, and you will understand why this must happen.
Jeter moving to right field then opens up shortstop where A-Rod can move back to his natural position. He had the range to play there eight years ago, so I don’t see how that could have changed at all. He will probably hit way more home runs at shortstop, too, because he will be so super psyched to be back there. GOES WITHOUT SAYING.
Now comes the important part of the plan: put Jorge at third base, this way he won’t be super sadzies sitting in the dugout all game. Nevermind that he’ll commit 4 errors a game, that will totally be cancelled out by the huge boost of morale in the locker room. Clutchness will rain down from the heavens and nary a runner will be left in scoring position again!
Oh, almost forgot, new DH: C.C. Sabathia (OBVI!). Career batting average is .258; that’d be like 4th best on the team right now! And I think I saw him hit a home run once!!! IT’S ALMOST TOO PERFECT.
There you go, might as well just book the Canyon of Heroes for the next five years because I am pretty sure I just created a dynasty. Implement this plan immediately, or hit the bricks, Girardi.
