Yesterday was not a good day in Yankee land, but that's no reason to believe that today won't be better, especially with the Yanks set to face "Big Game" James Shields.
There are two possible explanations for the way the world (and the standings) look right now:
1) Either the Yankees are really this bad- ready to go 0-122 for the rest of the season;
or, 2) The Yankees are neither as bad as they look now, nor as good as they looked when they were winning each game by a whisker.
I choose to believe the latter is true.
Update: Rafael Soriano was 15-day DL'ed to make room for OF Chris Dickerson, who's starting in RF tonight.
Lineups -
NYY: Jeter, Grandy, Tex, Arod, Cano, Martin, Posada, Gardner, Dickerson
TB: Fuld, Zobrist, Damon, Longoria, Joyce, Upton, Kotchman, Johnson, Shoppach
