New York Yankees 7, Boston Red Sox 2: Moseley And The Bats Get The Job Done

Alex Rodriguez also got his 300th stolen base.

To me, this is a really, really satisfying win. Dustin Moseley came to the ballpark tonight expecting to watch a Sunday Night game in the Bronx, instead he pitched in it. Moseley was solid, giving up two earned runs in 6.1 innings. Boone Logan got out of a bases loaded two out jam by getting David Ortiz to ground out.

Moseley got a loud ovation from the Yankees faithful, but the pitcher was not the only one that played well. The Yankees bats came out swinging tonight, as Derek Jeter had 3 RBI, Mark Teixeira hit a solo home run, and Lance Berkman went 3-4 with an RBI.

Comment of the Game: tackaberry's text.

Play of the Game: surprisingly, it was Bill Hall's fifth-inning homer that brought Boston within one (-11%). On the Yankee side, it was Tex's solo shot in the bottom of the fifth (+10%).
