I promised I wouldn't do it... get all caught up into this ridiculous speculation that the Jays were just going to dump Roy Halladay into our roster if we gave them Melky and Ian and maybe Aceves and, I don't know, Hughes or (but not both) AJax if they asked nice enough.
But I feel I must and inspired by bforce3000 and others let's take a deep and honest look into this...
What happened to Ricciardi stating that in order for them to move Halladay the trading team would have to include (along with other pieces) a near MLB ready blue chip SS prospect?
That counts out the Yanks, me thinks.
SIs Jon Heyman tweeted about it here: http://twitter.com/SI_JonHeyman/status/2522377372
Also, Mark Feinsand of the NY Daily News: "Halladay may be traded and he may not. Either way, I would almost guarantee it won’t be here." He doesn't believe the Yankees are willing to accept one of the Jays' bad contracts along with Halladay, nor does he think a deal including Phil Hughes, Joba Chamberlain and Austin Jackson would appeal to GM Brian Cashman. (this paragraph was copied, without permission, from here)
Let's drop this insane talk about getting Halladay and get back to something more stimulating like bashing Joba cuz... well, I guess we're pissed that he was pulled away from thankless (what???? Holds count too!!!) 8th inning bullpen duty (which he did fantastically btw in 59 magical innings!) and now seeing him develop as a starter just doesn't do it for my man-crush anymore :(
